Up to 6mm thick, our aluminium sheet and plate is cold rolled to size. Thicknesses from 1mm – 6mm are supplied in grade 1050 H14.
1050 H14 grade is of a minimum 99.5% pure aluminium. It has excellent formability and is suitable for MIG and TIG welding. It is commonly used as panels for classic cars, kit cars and sports cars.
The benefits of 1050 H14 aluminium is that it has excellent corrosion resistance and is ideal for anodising or powder coating. Owing to this feature it is often used in the manufacturing of signs and curtain walling.
It is also suitable for use on commercial vehicle bodies, horse boxes, trailers and caravans, chemical processing plants, food industry containers, pyrotechnic powder, Architectural flashings, lamp reflectors, cable sheathing.

When welding 1050 to itself or an alloy from the same subgroup the recommended filler wire is 1100. For welding to alloys 5083 and 5086 or alloys from the 7XXX series, the recommend wire is 5356. For other alloys use 4043 filler wire.
